Kahaluʻu, the “diving place,” is where the windward highways finally meet Kāneʻohe Bay and the country starts. Taro patches, an ancient fishpond and a century-old dairy store still mark the landscape, and the community fought for years to open its own regional park. Family parties here run big and long – the perfect setting for a truck full of Danjah Dogs and lau lau.
