Best Hawaiian Street Food Near Kaʻaʻawa: Food Truck Catering

Kaʻaʻawa is a thin ribbon of homes squeezed between sheer Koʻolau cliffs and a broad fringing reef, with Kaʻaʻawa Valley – famous from Jurassic Park – opening up behind it. There isn’t much room for restaurants out here, which is why a booked food truck makes sense for a backyard lūʻau or beach-park birthday. Danjah Dog brings Danjah Dogs, Hammah Burgahs, Cazi’s Hawaiian bentos and Dole Soft Serve to any part of Oʻahu.

    The truck lives in town

Danjah Dog’s regular stop is the Lowes Home Improvement lot at 411 Pacific Street in Iwilei, Honolulu, Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM. If you’re heading to Honolulu for errands, plan lunch around it. For a gathering at home in Kaʻaʻawa, book the truck and let the food come to you.

    Plates for a valley-sized hunger

Cazi’s Famous Hawaiian Bento, with mini lau lau and kalua pig, is the most “country” plate we serve – our chef’s lau lau won First Place at the 1995 Taste of Honolulu. Pair it with Da Original Hammah ($17) for the table, and Thursday’s Maui Onion special if you’re in town that day.

    Kualoa to Kahana: Kaʻaʻawa’s Landmarks

Kaʻaʻawa sits in the Koʻolauloa district on Kamehameha Highway, north of Kāneʻohe Bay and directly southeast of Kahana Bay. Homes hug the shoreline while the valley stretches inland, so beach parks double as the town’s backyards.

    • Kualoa Regional Park & Mokoliʻi

Just south of town, a city park on the National Register of Historic Places facing Mokoliʻi, the islet nicknamed Chinaman’s Hat.

    • Kualoa Ranch & Kaʻaʻawa Valley

The valley is part of the working ranch, used for tours and film shoots including Jurassic Park.

    • Swanzy Beach Park

Five acres donated in the 1920s by Julie Judd Swanzy, with a playground, shade trees and permitted weekend camping.

    • Kaʻaʻawa Beach Park

A narrow strip of sand along Kamehameha Highway, part of the same shoreline as Kanenelu and Kalaeʻōʻio beaches.

    Kaʻaʻawa Questions? We Got Answers

Answers for Kaʻaʻawa families and anyone planning a party on the Kualoa coast.

Can Danjah Dog bring the truck to Kaʻaʻawa?

Yes. We book the truck and drop-off catering anywhere on Oʻahu, including Kaʻaʻawa. Use the quote form on our catering page with your date, headcount and address.

Will DoorDash or Uber Eats deliver Danjah Dog to Kaʻaʻawa?

Probably not reliably. Orders come from our Honolulu truck, and delivery may not reach Kaʻaʻawa. Check the app with your address, but catering or a visit to the truck is the surer bet.

Is there a Danjah Dog stop near Kualoa or Kahana?

No. The truck’s only regular stop is 411 Pacific Street in Honolulu, Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 3 PM. We don’t park along the windward coast unless the truck is booked.

Can we book the truck at Swanzy or Kualoa Regional Park?

We can cater events across Oʻahu, but city parks set their own rules for food vendors and permits. Check with the City and County of Honolulu first, or host at a private home or venue.

What’s a good order for a family reunion?

Cazi’s Hawaiian bento with mini lau lau and kalua pig ($15) feeds the adults, Da Original all-beef dog ($9) covers the kids, and Dole Soft Serve ($6) finishes the day.

    Is Danjah Sauce very spicy?

It comes in three levels – Danjah, Mo Danjah and Majah Danjah – made from 27 to 33 ingredients depending on the peppers. Start mild if you’re unsure.
