Danjah Dog — Hawaiian street food truck and catering for the Waimea Bay area of Oʻahu's North Shore.
VIEW OUR MENU ›Best Hawaiian Street Food Near Waimea Bay: Food Truck Booking
On November 7, 1957, a handful of surfers paddled into Waimea Bay’s giant winter waves for the first time, and big-wave surfing was never the same. Today the bay is still the home of the Eddie Aikau invitational, which runs only when the open-ocean swell reaches about twenty feet. Most days are quieter: families swim in the summer calm, and the valley behind the bay stays green. Danjah Dog doesn’t park here, but the truck can be booked for your North Shore group.

River, Valley & Legend: Around Waimea Bay
Waimea Bay sits at the mouth of the Waimea River, between Haleʻiwa and Pūpūkea on Kamehameha Highway. “Waimea” means reddish water. Summer usually brings clear, calm water; winter storms far out in the North Pacific send the swells that made the bay famous. The bay is part of the Pūpūkea Marine Life Conservation District, which reaches the Wananapaoa Islets on its south side.
Waimea Bay Beach Park
One of Oʻahu’s most popular beaches – a summer swimming spot that turns into a spectators’ gallery on big winter days.
The Eddie
The big-wave invitational honoring Eddie Aikau, the first North Shore lifeguard, held only in rare years when the swell is big enough.
Waimea Valley
The botanical garden and cultural park behind the bay, stewarded by Hiʻipaka LLC, a nonprofit created by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
Sts. Peter and Paul Church
The Catholic mission church near the bay, whose tower is visible from the beach and whose lot helps with parking on big event days.
