Best Hawaiian Street Food in Waimānalo: Catering & Food Truck Bookings

Waimānalo still feels like country. Farm lots and plant nurseries run from the town back toward the cliffs of the Koʻolau, and out front is what’s often called the longest stretch of sandy shoreline on Oʻahu. It’s a place for big family gatherings under the ironwoods – and when the cooler needs filling, Danjah Dog’s plate-lunch flavors fit right in.

    Where the truck actually is

Danjah Dog doesn’t keep a stop on the windward side. The truck serves in town from the Lowes Home Improvement parking lot at 411 Pacific Street, Honolulu, Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 3 PM. If you’re in Honolulu for work or a supply run, stop by – otherwise, book the truck to come to you.

    Feeding a hungry crew

For a farm workday or a long beach afternoon, Cazi’s mini lau lau and kalua pig bento ($15) is real local food that holds up. Da Hawaiian Hurricane Hammah ($21) handles the biggest appetites, and every order can become a combo with a drink and chips for $3 more.

The name is often translated as “potable water,” a nod to the brackish ponds once used for irrigation here. Kalanianaʻole Highway connects it to Hawaiʻi Kai around Makapuʻu and to Kailua to the north.
