A breakwater-protected bay that’s often calmer than other west shore beaches, with lifeguards on duty – a favorite for family swims and picnics.
Kūʻilioloa Heiau
An ancient Hawaiian temple site on Kāneʻīlio Point, at the edge of Pōkaʻī Bay.
Mākaha Beach
A long stretch of golden sand and one of the first places surfers rode big waves, still home to a classic big-board surf event.

The highest peak on Oʻahu at about 4,025 feet, rising from the Waiʻanae Range behind town.
Kaʻena Point
The westernmost point of Oʻahu, a sacred place and protected natural area reached on foot at the end of the road.
