Fuel for a Windy Kailua Beach Day

No beach stand – here’s the plan

You won’t find Danjah Dog parked on Kailua Beach. The truck works one daily stop: the Lowes Home Improvement lot at 411 Pacific Street in Iwilei, Honolulu, Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM. Windward folks who head into town grab lunch there; for a beach birthday, a paddling-club gathering or a reunion, book the truck or drop-off catering instead.

    Orders that suit sandy hands

Danjah Dogs are built for eating standing up – Da Shaun Dog and Da Beer Brat are easy crowd-pleasers. Bentos travel in a cooler bag without fuss, and Dole Soft Serve ($6) keeps the little ones happy between swims. Add a combo for $3 to get a drink and chips.

Along the Sand: Kailua Beach Spots & Neighbors

Kailua Beach runs for roughly two and a half miles along Kailua Bay. The 35-acre beach park sits at the south end near the stream and boat ramp, the middle and north stretches are where wind riders launch, and quieter Kalama Beach Park sits farther up the sand.

    • Kailua Beach Park

Picnic tables, grassy lawns and ironwood shade make the south end the go-to spot for family parties and calm-water swims.

    • Kaʻelepulu Stream mouth

Where the stream meets the bay near the park’s south end – a familiar landmark for keiki splashing and meet-ups.

    • Popoiʻa (Flat Island)

A low islet just off the beach and a protected seabird sanctuary, popular with kayakers who paddle out and back.

    • Kalama Beach Park

A quieter, residential section of Kailua Beach named for Queen Kalama, favored by bodyboarders and wind sports riders.

    • Kailua Bay’s wind lanes

Steady trade winds make the center and north end of the beach a hub for windsurfing and kitesurfing lessons.

Kailua Beach Questions? We Got Answers

Quick answers for beachgoers, wind riders and windward party planners.

Is the Danjah Dog truck parked at Kailua Beach Park?

No. The truck’s only regular stop is 411 Pacific Street in Honolulu, in the Lowes Home Improvement parking lot, Monday to Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM. For a Kailua Beach event, book the truck or catering through our catering page.

Can I get Danjah Dog delivered near Kailua Beach?

Possibly. Orders through DoorDash and Uber Eats come from our Honolulu truck, and coverage to Kailua depends on the app and your address. Check with your exact address before planning around it.

We’re hosting a paddling or windsurf club gathering in Kailua – can you cater?

Yes. Truck booking and drop-off catering are available anywhere on Oʻahu. Share your date, headcount and location in the quote form, and confirm any park or venue rules for food service.

What should I pack for a Kailua Beach picnic from Danjah Dog?

Cazi’s bento with mini lau lau and kalua pig ($15) and the Hammah Burgahs hold up well in a cooler bag. Ask for Danjah Sauce on the side so nothing gets soggy.

Does Danjah Dog have a kids’ option for beach days?

Yes, Dole Soft Serve is $6. Dole Soft Serve ($6) is another favorite, and any combo adds a drink and chips for $3.

Is there anything vegetarian for our Kailua group?

Da Shaun Dog ($9) and Da Shaun Burger are both vegetarian, so non-meat eaters can join the party.
