Lualualei is the largest coastal valley on Oʻahu’s leeward side, an open bowl of farm lots and homes ringed by the Waiʻanae Range. Mary Kawena Pukui read its name as “flexible wreath.” Much of the valley is Navy land, and the rest is spread-out country living. Danjah Dog can bring a truckload of Danjah Dogs, Hammah Burgahs and kalua pig bentos to a valley party or farm work day.

Country Grinds for the Valley
Our truck, your property
Danjah Dog doesn’t keep a stop in Lualualei. The truck works from the Lowes Home Improvement parking lot at 411 Pacific Street in Honolulu, Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 3 PM. Out in the valley, we come for booked events on private property or at community venues.
Feeding a work crew or a family yard party
For a fence-building weekend or harvest day, start early with brunch sandos (all day), then feed everyone again at lunch with Hammah Burgahs and Da Podagee Sausage Dogs. Combos add a drink and chips for $3. Cazi’s bento brings the lau lau for anyone who wants a proper plate.
Navy land in the valley
Naval Magazine Lualualei and the Navy radio transmitter occupy restricted land here. The truck can’t enter an installation on its own; any event on or near base needs approval from the organizer and the installation. Off-base homes and venues are straightforward to book.

The Shape of Lualualei Valley
Lualualei opens behind Māʻili, which sits at its seaward edge, and runs inland toward the oldest lavas of the Waiʻanae volcano. Much of the valley is government or private land, so it’s best seen from public roads and the beaches below.

The Navy radio towers
